Our Story
Founded in Aberdeen in 2019, AberNecessities exists to ensure every child has the basic essentials they need to thrive.
Working alongside local services and our wider community, we provide the everyday essentials and thoughtful extras that help children and families across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, because No Child Should Go Without.

What We Do
From maternity bundles for new mothers and babies to clothing, nappies, toys and equipment for children aged 0–18, our work focuses on providing the practical items every child needs, alongside small comforts that bring confidence, reassurance and moments of joy to families when they need it most.
Every referral we receive is handled with care and compassion, ensuring that each child receives support that feels thoughtful, personal and delivered with dignity.
Through these small but meaningful gestures, we are able to bring comfort, excitement and a sense of childhood magic to many young lives, while offering reassurance to parents across our communities.
We work in close partnership with professionals across health, education and social care who understand the individual needs of the families they support. Through this trusted network, support is delivered thoughtfully, fairly and always with dignity.
This collaborative approach allows us to focus on providing essential items and small comforts, while the professionals supporting each family continue to offer the guidance and care they may need.
Across our communities, many families continue to face challenging circumstances and the need for practical support remains significant. With the support of our community, partners and volunteers, AberNecessities is able to continue being there for local families when it matters most.

Our Impact
Since 2019, AberNecessities has supported more than 20,000 local babies, children and young people across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, providing hundreds of thousands of essential items to families.
